CHARLESTON – College of Charleston defeated Charleston Southern on Tuesday night by a 3-0 score. The loss puts the Buccaneers at 5-3 on the year.
The Cougars got a big decision in the first by a 25-10 score and squeezed by 26-24 in the second to make it a 2-0 lead. They closed the evening with a 25-14 win in the third.
Skylar Yates led the team in kills as she picked up seven with
Emmy Rollins and
Indigo Young close behind with six and five.
Ilaria Durante dished 20 assists in the effort.
Angelika Rusin led the team in digs with 11.
The Buccaneers return to action on Friday to play Mercer in the Auburn Invitational. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. EST and they close the opening day against Auburn on SECN+ at 8 p.m. EST.
