CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern tennis team earned a weekend sweep this Sunday, as they defeated the East Carolina Pirates in an epic battle that ended in a 4-3 win. 

This was the first win for the Bucs (5-5) against ECU (5-6) in team history. The Pirates were 10-0 coming into this match against the Bucs dating back to 1996. 

The Pirates took the doubles competition, winning two of the three battles. Noa Boyd and Amila Jusufbegovic were the only ones that to win their matches, taking the 6-4 victory.

How Sweep It Is
The singles competition went in the favor of the Bucs. Luiza Fullana swept her opponent 6-1 both times. Marina Skegro, Boyd and Kassandra Di Staulo also swept their opponents. Skegro won 6-2 and 6-1, Boyd won 6-3 and 6-4 and Di Staulo won 6-4 and 6-1

Next Up
The Bucs get a few days off, as their next match is not until Friday, when they host Miami (OH) at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center starting at noon.
