Early Momentum Carries Bucs to 4-3 Win

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern tennis team stayed hot on Thursday, as they won their fourth-straight contest by a 4-3 score against the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center.

The Bucs (6-5) took the doubles round, winning two out of three to start things off. The team of reigning Big South Player of the Week Noah Boyd and Amila Jusufbegovic shut out their opponent with a 6-0 score, and Tiffany Pyritz/Zoe Cauthen won a closer battle that took extra time, taking the 7-5 victory.

The Bucs jumped ahead in the singles matches as well, as they won the first three sets to take the 4-0 lead. Three-straight sweeps is all that it took.

Cauthen swept her opponent with two 6-1 vicories. Luiza Fullana followed that up with a 6-4 and 6-1 victory, and Kassandra Di Staulo swept her opponent as well with a 6-1 and 7-5 victory.
