HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Charleston Southern women's volleyball team fell on the road on Friday night, losing 3-0 to the High Point Panthers. 
 
The Bucs (9-17, 3-9 in conference) dropped the first set by a 31-29 score. After Charleston Southern jumped out to a 6-2 lead before High Point closed the gap and tied things at seven. The Bucs took a three-point lead back after three-straight attack errors by the Panthers. 
 
Charleston Southern's lead got to as high as 21-17 with kill by Skylar Yates, who had 12 on the night to lead the Bucs. High Point came storming back with four-straight points, but the Bucs were able to take a 24-22 lead before the Panthers came storming back. After taking a 29-28 lead in the extended period, the Bucs surrendered three-straight to lose the first set. 
 
In the second set, High Point was able to take control, jumping out to 7-3 lead. After that, the Panthers were able to get the lead up to seven, when they took an 11-4 lead. The Bucs trailed by as much as eight points and eventually fell 25-18. 
 
The Bucs started the third set with a 2-0 lead and stayed neck-and-neck with the Panthers for most of the way. They were able to take a 16-15 lead when Illaria Durante had a kill; however, the Panthers outscored the Bucs 10-3 the rest of the way, taking the set by a 25-20 score. 
 
Giada Pais-Marden had eight kills, while Emmy Rollins had six. Durante led the way for the Bucs with 28 assists, and Jyriah Morgan had two blocks.
 
Up Next
The Bucs head up north on Saturday, as they take on Radford at 4 p.m. in Virginia. This will be the second match between the two teams, as the Bucs were able to get the win on October 13th.
