CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern resumes its in-state rivalry against Coastal Carolina on Wednesday when the teams meet at the CCU Soccer Stadium in Conway. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Bucs (2-1) have shutout victories over Brewton-Parker and South Carolina State and will be looking to win three of their first four games for the first time since 2014. The Chanticleers are 0-2-1 with a tie against Jacksonville followed by losses to College of Charleston and UNCW.
Coastal has won the last five games against CSU to even the all-time series at 8-8-4. The teams last met in 2017, two years after the Chanticleers left the Big South for the Sun Belt.
Jenea Knight is tied for first in the Big South and tied for sixth in the nation with four goals, and
Bri Robinson paces the conference and is tied for second nationally with four assists. Robinson also has two goals.
Dakota Fiedler is second on the team with three goals, and
Erin Rush has three assists.
Sara Curtis has made 11 saves and has a 1.00 goals against average while playing all 270 minutes.
Coastal got goals from Megan Brouse and Julia Ziegenfuss in its draw with the Dolphins. Brouse also has an assist, and Rose Behrmann added a goal against the Seahawks. Katelyn Kellogg has recorded 15 saves.
Following Wednesday's trip to Conway, the Bucs host Jacksonville on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the team's 2022 Senior Day.
