CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charleston Southern junior Micah Gilpatric has been named the 2022 Big South Conference Men's Cross Country Runners of the Year, as announced by the Big South Conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Gilpatric shined all year, capping off the impressive campaign with a 29th-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional, a 10K time of 30:21, standing as the Big South's best showing in the event. Gilpatric also took home the Big South Individual Title a month ago with an 8K time of 24:04 while leading Charleston Southern to the team title in the event for the third-straight year. Gilpatric earned Big South Runner of the Week plaudits back in September after an individual title at the Adidas Challenge with a 6K time of 17:24.8.

October also saw a strong finish from Gilpatric and CSU at the Weis-Crockett Invitational, as the Buccaneers were led by his 8K time of 24:39.
