CHARLESTON, S.C. – In a game delayed three days by Hurricane Ian, Charleston Southern heads to Presbyterian on Tuesday seeking its third straight Big South victory. Kickoff in Clinton, S.C., is at 7 p.m.
The Bucs are 2-1 in conference play (4-6-1 overall) with back-to-back shutout wins over USC Upstate and UNC Asheville.
Erin Rush and
Jenea Knight scored goals, and
Sara Curtis recorded her fourth clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs last Wednesday.
Presbyterian is 0-8-3 with one of the ties being a 1-1 draw at Longwood in its Big South opener. The Blue Hose have losses to Radford and Upstate in their last two outings.
Tuesday marks the 16th meeting between the Palmetto State rivals, with Presbyterian holding an 8-6-1 lead in the series. CSU won a year ago, 2-0, in Charleston.
Knight's goal against UNC Asheville was her fifth of the season, tying her for fourth in the Big South. She is also tied for third in points (14), tied for seventh in shots (26) and tied for third in shots on goal (15).
Rush scored for the third time this season and has four assists to tie Knight and
Bri Robinson for eighth in the conference. Rush is also second in game-winning games with three. Curtis has a 1.64 goals against average while leading the Big South with her four shutouts.
Presbyterian is led by Sloan Spees with four goals, and Kelly Hall has a 1.89 goals against average.
