HIGH POINT, N.C. – A trio of first-half goals led defending Big South regular season champion High Point past Charleston Southern Saturday afternoon, 4-0, at Vert Stadium.
Salome Prat scored a brace off the bench for the Panthers, while Magdalena Schwarz and Skyler Prillaman also found the back of the net for HPU.
Jenna Moran had two saves in the first half for CSU, while
Elise Borys played the second half in between the sticks and had one save for the Bucs.
Kayla Reese,
Daniela Contreras and
Mason Pinkerton had the Bucs' three shots on target, while
Katie Carnes also had one shot for CSU.
High Point challenged the Bucs' backline early and often, forcing Moran to make a save within the first three minutes of the contest. Schwarz scored the opening goal of the contest just eight minutes in.
Prillaman doubled the Panthers' lead in the 26th minute, while Prat added HPU's third of the half in the 43rd, less than 20 minutes after coming on as a sub. Prat also added a fourth goal for HPU in the 76th.
