VolleyBucs open weekend with quick sweep

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball opened their Buccaneer Invitational with a quick 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-16) sweep of Bethune-Cookman Friday afternoon from Buccaneer Field House.

Charleston Southern (3-4) hit a season-best .290 on their way to the clean sweep of Bethune-Cookman (0-7) as the dynamic duo of Paige Reagor (14 kills, .571 hitting percentage) and Peyton Thompson (14 kills, .310 hitting percentage) had more kills than the Wildcats combined.

CSU had at least 13 kills each set and hit over .300 in the first and third while Emilee Karelse had a match-high three service aces.

Jasmine Moore had eight kills for the Wildcats but the Bucs overpowered from the first whistle through the final point – a kill from Gabrielle Naniseni, who was coming off a career night Wednesday.
