BUC NOTES AND STORYLINES
• Charleston Southern will put a stamp on its 2021 home schedule with a 1 p.m. Saturday kickoff against North Carolina A&T as part of Summerville Appreciation Day.
• It's also Senior Day for the Bucs, as they will honor the careers of 21 players in a postgame on-field ceremony.
• The Buccaneers are 2-1 on their home turf, this fall, with all games against Big South competition.
• Middle linebacker
Garrett Sayegh is the reigning Big South Defensive Player of the Week after a monster contest in last week's triumph over Campbell.
• Sayegh tied his career high with 16 tackles (11 solo) and added two forced fumbles, an interception, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
• Sayegh's two forced fumbles equaled the single-game school record, set by nine others previously, and are the most in a game under third-year head coach
Autry Denson.
• Quarterback
Jack Chambers continued to build his case for Big South Offensive Player of the Year, completing 34-of-48 for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
• Chambers hit a trio of targets the most often, including
Geoffrey Wall (10 catches),
Cayden Jordan (9) and
Garris Schwarting (9).
• CSU's day was started, however, by back-to-back Camels turnovers on the first-two kickoff returns, including following a 99-yard return on the opening kickoff where the Campbell returner dropped the ball on the 1-yard line before crossing into the end zone.
