CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern football announced its schedule for the 2026 fall season on Tuesday afternoon. The 12 game schedule features six home games and seven conference games in their fourth year in the Ohio Valley / Big South Football Association and fourth under Head Coach
Gabe Giardina.
The season will begin on Thursday, August 27, in a conference game at Lindenwood. The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST / 6 p.m. CT in the Bucs' first-ever season opener which also serves as their conference opener.
Following this, they stay on the road for their next two games with a trip to Georgia Southern (9/5) and another to crosstown rival, The Citadel (9/12). This will mark the second official meeting of the Lowcountry Boil Bowl. Additionally, this is the first time since 2011 that the Bucs' first three games of the year are on the road.
The Buccaneers' home opener comes against Point on September 19 with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. After this, they will have their bye week and play for the next eight weekends until the season finale. The stretch begins with a pair of home games coming against Gardner-Webb (10/3) and South Carolina State (10/10). The first will serve as the third-ever meeting of the North/South BBQ Bowl and the other will serve as Homecoming.
Charleston Southern will then go on the road to face Clemson (10/17) for their nonconference finale. They then travel to Nashville to take on Tennessee State (10/24) to begin the run of five consecutive conference games to end the season.
The Buccaneers then host three games in a row for the second time this season. This stretch of contests has each scheduled for a 2 p.m. kickoff with them coming against Western Illinois (10/31), UT Martin (11/7) and Southeast Missouri State (11/14). The season finale will be on November 21 with them traveling to Eastern Illinois.
