CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Charleston Southern took the doubles point early Sunday and never looked back on their way to a dominant 5-2 win over Elon to close their weekend stay in North Carolina.

The top-two tandems of Madalina Man/Luiza Fullana and Tiffany Pyritz/Zoe Cauthen got CSU (1-1) on the board 1-0 through doubles play before Man, Pyritz, Liz Williams and Hilda Lundstedt collected for singles bouts to deter Elon (0-2) Sunday morning.

Lundstedt collected her first win as a Buccaneer in singles play at the sixth flight by a score of 6-1, 6-2 before the trio of Pyritz, Man and Williams all fought for three-set wins at the top, third and fifth flights to close out the victory.

After falling in the first set 6-2, Pyritz battled back for a 6-4 second to force a decisive third taking it 6-1 for a win at the top flight. Man followed suit with a 6-2, 6-4 comeback after falling behind 1-0 after the first set while Williams deterred a possible comeback at five with a 7-5 victory to close out the third and final set on court five.
