Monssen Named MVP as Bucs Sweep River City Rumble

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – The Buccaneer volleyball team were named Co-Champions of the River City Rumble after going a perfect 3-0, picking up wins over Jacksonville, Belmont and LIU.
 
Senior Brooke Monssen was named MVP of the tournament after tallying 53 kills over 12 sets, averaging 4.41 kills per set. Monssen recorded 12 of those kills in the first win over Jacksonville, hitting .526. She also tallied 35 digs over the three matches.
 
Caitlyn Michalski and Macey LaPorte were named to the River City Rumble All-Tournament Team. LaPorte added to the offense for the Bucs with seven aces while Michalski got it done defensively with 15 blocking assists over the weekend to pair with 13 kills.
 
Carsyn Starr provided a huge spark for the Buccaneer offense with 45 kills on the weekend to pair with seven blocking assists.
 
Emilee Karelse took 16thin school history for career assists amassing 214 over a span of her first nine games as a Buccaneer. Karelse recorded 47 assists in the victory over Long Island University. Paige Reagor tallied nine blocks in the match against the Sharks.
 
Libero Skylar Blackmon racked up 45 digs in the sweep and was nearly perfect on serve receive for the Bucs.
