CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern battled Navy to a scoreless draw until the Midshipmen produced the lone goal of the game in the 70th minute for a 1-0 victory at the CSU Soccer Field.
CSU (2-1) continues its homestand on Sunday against North Florida in a game that has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. so the Ospreys can get home in advance of Hurricane Dorian. Navy improved to 2-1.
How It Happened
•   Navy took 11 shots in the first half but was unable to find the back of the net.Â
•   The shot total included a penalty kick by Victoria Tran in the 45th minute that went wide left.
•   The Bucs had a flurry of three shots in 10 minutes early in the second half, including attempts by
Zari Hayes,
Kylie Doster and
Erin Rush.
•   The Mids finally broke through in the 70th minute on a goal by Hannah Miller off assists by Gina Peraino and Cadie Higginson.
•   CSU was limited to two shots the rest of the way as the Navy defense preserved the shutout.
Inside the Numbers
•   Navy finished with an 18-6 lead in shots and 7-2 on goal.
•   Six different Bucs had one shot each with Hayes' and
Dakota Fiedler's being on target.

Jazmin Gonzalez made six saves, and Navy's Sydney Fortson stopped two shots.
News and Notes
•   Gonzalez became the 11th player in CSU history with 100 career saves.
•   The game was the first against Navy since 2011, and the Mids have a 2-1 lead in the series.
