CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Buccaneers knocked off the Hampton Pirates in four sets on Saturday afternoon to improve to 3-4 in Big South play.

The Bucs got off to a slow start, dropping the first set to the Pirates in extra points 26-24 but would run away with the second set after hitting .435 and tallying three blocks.

In the third set,
Macey LaPorte came alive with five kills and would end the match with a new career high for kills with 15. LaPorte also tallied her first career double double with ten digs on the day.

Brooke Monssen would record her 17
thmatch with double digit kills after tallying 18 kills (.371) to pair with three blocks. The Buccaneers added to their offense from behind the service line, notching five service aces on the day.Â
Emilee Karelse broke her own career high for assists with 52 over the Pirates and added a trio of service aces for her team.
Naiomi Rivera stepped into the match to record two service aces while
Caitlyn Michalski had seven kills hitting .462 and recording 6 blocking assists.

The Bucs will close their home stand next weekend Friday Oct. 25-26 as they host Gardner Webb and Winthrop.
