LHP Tory Schroff (2-0, 3.09 ERA) vs. RHP Tyler Herb (3-3, 2.57 ERA)

Game 2, Saturday, 3 p.m.

RHP Levi Mauldin (2-1, 3.69 ERA) vs. RHP Chase Adkins (0-1, 2.65 ERA)

Game 3, Sunday, 2 p.m.

LHP Andrew Tomasovich (3-1, 4.68 ERA) vs. RHP Seth Lamando (1-1, 6.10 ERA)

The Bucs hope the scorching bat of Alex Tomasovich will turn tings around in Big South play. Tomasovich owns the nation's longest active hitting streak at 20 games and is four games shy of the longest streak in Division I this season. The senior third baseman and junior Bobby Ison are tied for the team lead with 42 hits. Both are on pace to push CSU's single-season hits record of 84, which Ison tied last season.

The duo is tied for fourth in the Big South with a .375 average. CSU leads the Big South with 283 hits and is second with a .292 team average.

Coastal Carolina enters the weekend at 10-15 overall and 2-4 in Big South play. The Chanticleers have won the second game in each of their first two Big South series against High Point and Winthrop. Friday's starter, Tyler Herb (3-3), has won three straight starts for Coastal and has allowed just one earned run in 20.1 innings of work.

Herb will face CSU's LHP Tory Schroff, who enters with a 2-1 record and a 3.09 ERA. Schroff will try to get the Bucs back on trap. The Buccaneers had won their first five series openers of the season before a 10-9 loss to Radford last Friday night in 12 innings.

Second baseman Connor Owings leads CCU with a .343 average and 34 hits. Coastal is 10th in the Big South with a .249 team average.
