High Point came out firing in the opening minutes of the first half, recording the first seven shots of the contest before finding the back of the net at the 15:51 mark as Kessler scored her fifth goal of the season off the assist from Taylor Parker. Parker played the ball into the box leading to a one-on-one between Kessler and CSU goalkeeper Caitlin Cody and Kessler's low shot from eight yards out deflected off Cody's gloves into the bottom right corner of the net for the first score in the contest.

The Panthers continued challenging the Charleston Southern defense in the first half, out-shooting the Lady Bucs 17-5 over the first 45 minutes as High Point scored their second goal of the contest at the 28:35 mark.

Kelly Joline crossed the ball into the box where it was touched to the top of the box by Kessler. Danielle Schepler collected the pass and fired a shot that curved inside the left post and into the upper left corner of the net to double the High Point lead with 16 minutes to play in the first half.

Charleston Southern battled back on their next possession as Morgann Wood received a long pass from Toni Lashley and the senior forward fired from 25 yards out. Her attempt deflected off the crossbar and bounced straight down into a mix of players. Lashley put a foot on a shot in front of the net, but High Point keeper Ivy Cocklereece was able to snag the attempt and cover up the ball to keep the match 2-0 in favor of the Panthers.

Wood continued to press with another shot five minutes later from the top of the box that sailed over the crossbar as the teams went into the halftime break with the score remaining 2-0 in favor of the visitors.

High Point added their third goal at the 53:34 mark as Kessler lofted a ball into the box. The serve was tipped by Jenny Butler toward Joline and she was able to finish the score with a header into the net for the 3-0 lead.

Six different Lady Bucs launched shots toward the net in the second half against High Point goalkeeper Jesse May as CSU attempted to battle their way back into the game.

Emma Faubert, Lashley, Rebecca Hollstegge, Wood, Alison Lewis and Ashley Lowdermilk challenged the Panthers defense, but High Point was able to put the clincher in the net at the 73:13 mark as Kessler scored off the corner kick from Schepler, settling the bouncing cross in the box and finding the back of the net through the crowd to give High Point the 4-0 lead.

Charleston Southern continued to press in the closing minutes attempting to break the shutout attempt as Lashley fired a shot at the 82:50 mark that sailed right and Lowdermilk's attempt from the top of the box was collected by May in the final two minutes as High Point closed out the 4-0 victory.
