LYNCHBURG, Va.- CSU drops a heartbreaker at Liberty, Saturday afternoon as two late second half goals were the difference maker in Lynchburg,Va.

After coming off of a hard fought loss to High Point, Thursday night, CSU looked to rebound as they traveled to Liberty. A barn burner seemed to be in the books as the Lady Bucs and the Flames were in a nail biting contest Saturday afternoon.

Liberty looked to control the play in the first half with CSU getting some opportunities but nothing could find the net for either team. Key saves by CSU keeper Amy Arroyo and Liberty keeper Karen Blocker seemed to be the tale of the half. A lot of attack and pressure came from Liberty but as in games past the Lady Bucs defense held strong and kept the Flames at bay.

Liberty got on the board in the 54th minute as the Flames had a free kick outside the box. A driven ball back post by Liberty's Heather Bentley found Ariana Espinoza who headed in the games first goal. Not to be counted out CSU answered back when Gina Thomas found Toni Lashley. Lashley looked up, spotted the keeper off her line and hit a chip over the keeper to level the game at 1. Both teams battled for the rest of the game with teams throwing punches but not landing a killer hit. As the game seemed to be heading into overtime Liberty found a gamewinner in the 84th minute. Silvia Betancourt slipped through the CSU defense and slotted a ball past Arroyo's outstretched hands. Trying to get back level, the Lady Bucs pushed numbers forward and in the 88th minute were exposed as Liberty's Cassie Norris found the end of an Alanna Dunkin pass and converter an insurance goal for the Flames to end the match 3-1 in Liberty's favor.
