CSU Soccer Falls to Towson, 1-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bucs suffered their third loss of the season this afternoon by closing the Navy Invitational with a 1-0 loss to tournament champion Towson. This marks the first time this season that the Bucs have been shutout. The loss drops the Bucs record to 4-3-0 and Towson improves on the season to a mark of 3-2-2.

Towson scored on a long shot off of a corner played short to give Towson the lead in the early going and never gave it back. The Bucs were outshot on the day at a count of 21 to 6.

CSU had three players named to the All-Tournament Team. Goal scorers Marky Boyce and Caitlin Wesnesky, as well as the Bucs' keeper Amy Arroyo who made a season- high eight saves for the Bucs in the losing effort against Towson.

Charleston Southern senior forward Marky Boyce was held without a goal for the first time this season, snapping a seven-game scoring streak. Boyce had scored nine goals in the Bucs' first six games, including a goal against Navy on this past Friday night.

CSU's season continues this coming Saturday with a match against cross-town rival Citadel. Kick off is set for 11 a.m. at Buccaneer Field.
