Match Preview: CSU vs Maine

CHARLESTON S.C. - The Lady Bucs of Charleston Southern square off today against the Black Bears from the University of Maine. The Bucs return to action after suffering a tough loss to cross-town rival College of Charleston in which they held a late lead this past Monday at Blackbaud Stadium. They look to bounce back with a strong showing at home today.

The Black Bears are coming off of a 9-5-3 season, with a 5-2-1 America East Conference Record.

The University of Maine is playing their third game of a four game road swing to start the season that will conclude with a match at The Citadel on Sunday. The Black Bears are 1-1 after opening their 2010 season with a 4-0 win at Iona then taking a loss at Fordham at a score of 2-0.

CSU Senior striker Marky Boyce has gotten off to another quick start for the Bucs this season, with 3 goals in 2 her first two games. Freshman Allison Lewis looks to follow up a match in which she scored her first collegiate goal in the Bucs last outing against the College of Charleston.

The Bucs women's team soccer has competed against the Black Bears twice in their history; a 2-4 loss at Maine in 1998 and a 7-0 defeat at home in 2004.

Kick off is set for 4:00 p.m. this afternoon at Buccaneer Field.
