Early Goal Leads High Point past CSU 1-0

HIGH POINT, N.C. - An early goal by High point proved to be enough as they beat Charleston Southern 1-0 Saturday afternoon. CSU fell to 3-5-2, 0-3 in the Big South, while High Point improved to 2-9, 2-2 in the Big South.

Caroline Carver blasted a shot off the post in the eighth-minute of the game and Laura Eldridge was able to get the rebound and put it in the back of the net past CSU freshman keeper Jena Uvalle.

High Point shot often, with 22 shots in the game, but was never able to get another one past Uvalle, who had five saves for CSU. The Lady Bucs had 12 shots on the day, getting four of them on goal.

CSU will return home to face Longwood on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Buccaneer Field.
