CHARLESTON – Friday night, on day two of the Bulldog Bash multi-team event in Huntsville, Alabama, Charleston Southern participated in a neutral site match-up against the Lindenwood Lions.
CSU came out strong, jumping out to a 41-28 lead going into the halftime locker room. The 13-point advantage was a reflection of a mildly-efficient first-half as the Bucs shot nearly 38% from the floor and nearly 32% from deep while only allowing Lindenwood to convert one three-ball in the first 20 minutes.
The issue for Charleston Southern Friday was the back end of the second-half. With 17 minutes to play, the Buccaneers would lead the Lions by 20 points. Minutes later, the Lions would break off a 17-0 run. CSU's first-half advantage in the shooting percentage categories would crumble in the second period – CSU's three-point conversion rate would fall to 25% while Lindenwood posted a 55% rate overall and 46% from long-range.
The once 20-point lead would be erased, and Lindenwood would secure the 83-77 victory in neutral territory.
