HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Charleston Southern women's basketball team dropped their second-straight game on Wednesday night, as they fell to the High Point Panthers inside the Qubein Center by a 78-51 score.
Tyonna Bailey was the leading scorer for the Buccaneers (5-11, 1-2 in conference) in her first-career start, finishing with 14 points on 4/11 shooting.
Mya Dotson also found herself in the starting five for the first time in her career, scoring seven points and forcing five steals.Â
After Charleston Southern jumped out to a lead in the first quarter, High Point (8-8, 2-0 in conference) took over, as they took a 22-point lead into the locker room after outscoring the Buccaneers 26-7 in the second quarter. They allowed just two points in the final four minutes of the first half and shot 64% in the second period.Â
The Panthers carried their momentum into the second half, stretching their lead to as many as 29 points in the third quarter. High Point shot 50.5% overall from the field on the evening, while the Buccaneers shot just 29.8%.
Alaina Nettles scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds, while
Madison Adamson was the leading rebounder with nine. The Buccaneers tied a season high in steals on Wednesday night with 10. They turned it over 19 times.Â
