Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Charleston Southern Falls on the Road to Winthrop, 76-64

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Charleston Southern men's basketball fell on the road Wednesday night, 76-64, as a strong second-half effort from Winthrop proved to be the difference in the contest.

THINGS GOING EARLY
Charleston Southern had things working early, as the Bucs jumped out to a six-point advantage throughout the early stages of the opening stanza. Tyeree Bryan hit a turnaround jumper just under the halfway mark of the first stanza to give CSU its biggest lead of the night, but the Eagles did enough to take a one-point lead into the midway break.

OUTSHOOTIN' THE EAGLES
Charleston Southern found themselves trailing by a point after the first half, but the box at the midway break showed CSU shooting a staggering 62% from the field compared to the Eagles' 54% from the field. It was Bryan and Claudell Harris Jr. that shined in the first half, as Bryan finished the stanza with 14 and Harris Jr. added 10 of his own.

DOUBLE-DIGITS
The Buccaneers saw three end in double figures Wednesday night, as Harris Jr. added five to his 10-point collection in the first half for a team-high 15. Bryan was right behind with 14 and Kalib Clinton added 12 of his own to make up the three. Clinton had a big night on the glass as well for CSU, chasing down eight rebounds to lead Bucs.

SHARING THE ROCK
The Buccaneers continue to share the ball well in wins and losses, as CSU recorded 12 assists on 24 made field goals. RJ Johnson paced the Bucs in the category, recording four of his own while Taje' Kelly added three and Tahlik Chavez claimed two. Charleston Southern also out-rebounded Winthrop, 31-26, including a 12-10 discretion on the offensive glass.

UP NEXT
The Bucs will see the final leg of a two-game road trip Saturday night as they make their final of two trip to Virginia on the year for an affair with Longwood. The action is set for a 6:00 p.m. tip inside Willett Hall.
