CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern softball resumes its busy early-season schedule this weekend by playing host to the CSU Buc Up Tournament, Friday-Sunday, at the CSU Softball Complex. The Buccaneers will welcome Sacred Heart and Virginia to town for seven total games over the three days.
OPENING WEEKEND
The Bucs are coming off a weekend event, the CSU Kickoff Tournament, in which Toledo and UNCW came to the Holy City. CSU finished the tournament with a 1-4 mark, capturing their lone triumph in the third overall game against Toledo, 11-9, in eight innings Saturday afternoon.

Christi Musser's lineup featured six players to start all five games with
Raleigh Lewis leading the way with a .444 batting average, a 1.196 OPS and .722 slugging percentage. She led the Bucs with eight hits, including a pair of doubles and a home run, and drove in a team-best six runners.
Ashley Meckley also provided a lift with her .429 average and 1.079 OPS. She scored a team-high six times and walked four times with a hit by pitch throughout the weekend.
Madison Koger and
SeaEnna Satcher joined Lewis as Charleston Southern players with home runs.
In the circle,
Baylee Eaton tossed 6.2 innings and registered a team-best 2.10 ERA. She tossed four strikeouts in relief, trailing
Annah Junge's 10 and
Blake Holtorf's seven. Junge spent the most time in the spot over the weekend, recording 13.1 innings with a 2.03 WHIP.
FOLLOW ALL THE ACTION
The weekend schedule calls for three games Friday (1/3:30/5:30 p.m.) and three more Saturday (12:30/3/5 p.m.) as well as a single-game Sunday (10 a.m.). The Buccaneers are slated for the last two games Friday, facing Sacred Heart and Virginia, respectively, before flipping the order of those two opponents in the final-two contests of Saturday's action.
