CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern opens its 2020 home softball schedule over the next three days when seven teams travel to the Lowcountry for the Charleston Invitational at the CSU Softball Field.

The Buccaneers open against North Carolina A&T on Friday 2:30, followed by a game against Appalachian State at 4:45 p.m. Another doubleheader on Saturday will take place against North Carolina Central (4:45 p.m.) and Ohio University (7 p.m.). The Bucs will round out the weekend against Army on Sunday at 1 p.m..
Bradley and Dartmouth will also be participating but will not face the Buccaneers.
Live stats will be available for all 10 games with links available on the tournament home page. The Bucs will be featured on ESPN+ for their games on Saturday. Weekend passes are $6 for adults and $3 for youths 18 and under.Â

Charleston Southern returns home after rounding out last weekend in Orlando and picking up their first win of the year with a 5-0 victory of Lehigh. In the win,Â
Annah Junge picked up her first win in a Charleston Southern uniform giving up four hits and retiring 19 of 22 batters faced.Â
Holly Clark picked up her first save of the season after pitching two innings and sitting down six of seven batters faced with three strikeouts.

Army enters the tournament with a 5-5 record after falling extra innings to Sacramento State 4-3. In addition to pitching the entire contest and striking out seven batters,Â
Alicyn Grete was 3-for-4 from the plate and scored a run.

Ohio University are 2-8 overall after competing in the Chattanooga Challenge. Offensively, the Bobcats are hitting .280 as a team, scoring a total of 36 runs with 81 hits, 16 doubles, and three homeruns. They've also registered 35 RBI and have a team slugging percentage of .388. The Bobcats also have a .340 on base percentage, while drawing 25 walks.Â
North Carolina Central is 0-4 but two of those losses are against nationally-ranked North Carolina and South Carolina. Tamiera Sanchez and Joirea Dumas have home runs for the Eagles, and Kiara Hurley has struck out 10 in 12.2 innings.

North Carolina A&T softball fell to Winthrop 11-5 at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex, Wednesday to fall to 1-6 overall this season.Â
Appalachian State is 7-2 with six straight wins. Baylee Morton leads the Mountaineers at the plate with a .320 average, four homers and 12 RBI. Sydney Holland has four wins, an 0.25 ERA and 21 strikeouts while Kenzie Longanecker has two wins and has fanned 14.
The Bucs will be offering day passes for sale each day of the 2020 tournament for the games held at the CSU Softball Field. The passes will grant access for every game at the CSU Softball Field on the day of purchase, but will not carry over to the remaining days of the tournament.
The passes will also only grant access to the game at Charleston Southern, but will not grant access to the games hosted at the Patriots Point Athletic Complex by CofC.
Tickets will go on sale one hour prior to the first game each day and will be sold at the gates throughout the dates of competition.
