ORLANDO, FLA. - The Charleston Southern softball team closed out the D9 Citrus Blossom with a loss to Georgia Southern who improves to 8-2 on the year.

BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
- Eagles reach third on a triple to left field, followed up by a double to left to score one.
TOP OF THE SECOND
- Mallory Kasinger recorded the first hit of the day for the Bucs with a single through the right side.
- Pinch runner would advance to third on a sacrifice bunt from Ashlyn Cribb but the Bucs wouldn't be able to bring her home, leaving one stranded.
BOTTOM OF THE SECOND
- Georgia Southern led off the bottom of the inning with a single just over the reach of Brooklynn Brewington before advancing the runner to second on a sacrifice bunt.
- A base hit up the middle put runners on the corners with one out for the Eagles.
- Junge would force two popups to end the Eagle threat.
BOTTOM OF THE THIRD
- The Eagles plated five runs in the third on a triage of extra-base hits.
- Holly Clark entered the game in relief for Junge.
TOP OF THE FOURTH
- A one-out single from Sarah Brown would set up a hard hit ball from Kasinger to force an error by the Eagles shortstop and put runners first and second.
- Ashlyn Cribb stepped into the box and ripped one up the middle for an RBI, her first of the year.
- Rhiana Hubbard would follow that up with a single through the right side gap to load the bases for the Bucs.
- Madison Koger added a run for CSU with a sacrifice fly to center to score Kasinger.
BOTTOM OF THE FOURTH
- Eagles add a pair of runs on Clarke and Alyssa Heinrich enters the game to pitch.
TOP OF THE FIFTH
- Meghan Gagliano laid down a bunt and reached after the third basemen threw it away.
- Brewington singles on a chopper that stayed fair just down the third-base line.
- Bucs board two but leave them stranded.
TOP OF THE SEVENTH
- Summer Moore picked up a pinch-hit single to left field.
- SeaEnna Satcher laced a ball to the SS who threw the ball into left field trying to get the lead runner, putting runners on second and third.
- Brewington picked up an RBI with a slap to the 1B who made the play at first. Anderson scored.
- Heather Carver pinch hit and picked up an RBI to score Gagliano from third but the rally was not enough.
Georgia Southern would hold the lead and take the final game of the tournament from the Bucs.
