CSU (8-11, 4-4 Big South) built a late eight-point lead and was in front by six with 1:14 left following an Armel Potter fast break layup. The Bucs missed five of six free throws over the ensuing minute, though, and saw Presbyterian (8-11, 3-5 Big South) take the lead on Reggie Dillard's three-point play with 13 seconds to play. Potter was fouled on a drive to the basket on the Bucs' ensuing trip, and swished two clutch attempts to vault CSU back in front. Dillard missed a three-pointer as time expired to allow CSU to escape with its third straight victory.

Aaron Wheeler spearheaded CSU's ninth straight win over PC with a career-high 20 points, and added ten rebounds for his second double-double of the year. Rae Robinson tallied 14 of his 16 points in the second half, and buried four threes to nudge CSU's lead to eight in a game that was tied at halftime. Potter and Patrick Wallace each added 13. CSU shot 50 percent in the second half, and made seven of its 12 threes over the final 20 minutes.

"Our late game execution could have certainly been better, but we got a win on the road and another close one so hopefully we're building some confidence with our group," CSU head coach Barclay Radebaugh said afterward. "I thought we made some shots and moved the ball well against their zone to get an eight-point lead there late. We've got a big one with Coastal Saturday and we're looking forward to a rocking Buc Dome for their final trip here."

DeSean Murray paced the Blue Hose with 17 points and 11 rebounds, but was held to just 5-of-14 shooting. Markus Terry and Dillard chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Robinson and Wallace connected on treys, and Wheeler threw down a two-handed dunk during an 11-4 push that gave CSU a 68-60 edge with 2:33 remaining.

CSU made just 5-of-18 from three in the first half, but knocked down 5-of-6 to start the second half during a fast-paced period of play. Robinson, the nation's ninth-most accurate three-point shooter entering play, missed his first four triples of the night, before sailing through his next five. He hit back-to-back threes early in the second stanza to give the Bucs a four-point edge.

Potter started the Bucs' scoring with a four-point play, and Wallace buried his first trey of the night, to give CSU an early 7-2 lead. CSU hit five of its first eight shots, culminating in a Wallace three and a 14-9 advantage at the 14:56 mark. The Bucs went cold for much of the remainder of the period, and were also plagued by 11 turnovers.

One of those turnovers resulted in a Terry layup and PC's biggest lead, 25-20, with 7:38 left until halftime. Darius Moore had a dunk late in the half, before a three from Robinson and mid-range jumper from Wheeler gave CSU the lead back. Terry knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 31 apiece at intermission.

CSU will look to finish the first half of its Big South schedule over the .500 mark when it hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m., as the rival Chanticleers make the trip to the Buc Dome as a conference foe for the final time.
