Stevi Johnson

n her first year as an assistant coach for the Buccaneers, Johnson helped guide the team to their best conference record in seven years (12-12) and an overall record of 18-37. Johnson played a vital role in the development of the outfielders who combined for 1/4 of the putouts in the 2019 season. 

Johnson also helped provide hitting for power instruction which resulted in a ninth-place program best 19 home runs for the team in 2019. 

Johnson joined the Charleston Southern softball staff in the fall of 2018 as the former CSU alum rejoined the Buccaneers program after a strong playing career.

The Visalia, Calif. native’s name dots the CSU record book over her four-year career that spanned 2014-17. Johnson sits among CSU’s all-time career leaders in batting average, hits, home runs, doubles, runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. She is third all-time in career games played at CSU (230).

Johnson was a starter on CSU’s 2014 Big South Conference Championship team and highlighted her career earning All-Conference honors in 2017.

Johnson resides in Charleston, South Carolina with her two year old dog, Oatie.
