Mike Marangelli was named the CSU Head Athletic Equipment Manager in the summer of 2020 after serving as a graduate assistant with the football program over the last two seasons. He assumes the role of the newly-created position and will oversee the maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment for all the University's NCAA intercollegiate athletic sports programs.
In his new role, Marangelli will help oversee the coordination of all CSU teams' day-to-day sports activities and maintenance of sport facilities. He will also help each coaching staff determine the needs and purchase orders for athletic and sports equipment.
He will also help the Athletic Department establish, maintain, and reconcile uniform and equipment inventories, as well as oversee the maintenance of all inventory records for the programs. He will also oversee and coordinate the work of the athletic equipment staff and students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities.
Marangelli takes on the role after previously serving as a Graduate Assistant on the Buccaneer Football Operations Staff where he helped handle the day-to-day operations in the equipment room. Among his primary responsibilities included designing, ordering, and budgeting for gear and equipment for the CSU football team. He also managed the football equipment room and assisted with team logistics and operations.
Marangelli also gained key experience in January 2020 when he served as an equipment manager for the USA Football team in Arlington, Texas. Among his responsibilities included fitting the athletes for helmets and shoulder pads, practice field setup, game-day sideline setup, and maintenance of player equipment through the duration of the event.
Marangelli graduated from Charleston Southern with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2018 and followed up with a master's degree in organizational leadership in 2020.
