Zack Hagaman joined the coaching staff in 2015 working with the outfielders and hitters.

Plenty of new faces made immediate impacts to the CSU lineup in 2019 including the Big South's best rookie hitter Max Ryerson, who paced the league's freshmen in batting average (.322), home runs (9) and RBI's (43) while being named the conference's Freshman of the Week twice. Ryerson was joined by fellow classmate and outfielder Kyle Horton as immediate impact bats while veteran centerfielder Josh Litchfield earned an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award for his 1.000% fielding percentage and six outfield assists. 

The 2018 season put Mike Sconzo and Josh Litchfield among the national leaders in toughest to strikeout. Sconzo (24th, 12.9) and Litchfield (79th, 10.2). Sconzo and freshman catcher Christian Maggio both earned All-Conference Second Team honors under Hagaman’s tutelage.

In 2017, Hagaman and the CSU offense took strides forward as the Bucs sat among the national leaders among those toughest to strikeout in the season. Mike Sconzo paced the conference and sits among the national leaders as one of the toughest players to strikeout in the 2017 season. The junior catcher finished the regular season 42nd in the nation with 15 strikeouts in 191 at-bats, averaging one strikeout per 12.7 at-bats.

Redshirt sophomore infielder Jason Miller became the Bucs' first recipient named to the conference First Team since Bobby Ison, Andrew Widell, and Alex Tomasovich earned the honors back in the 2014 season. Miller was the Bucs' offensive leader in the 2017 season leading CSU in batting average (.340), hits (69), and triples (2) on the year.

The Summerville, S.C. native was among the Big South leaders all season in both batting average (6th) and hits (4th). In conference play, the USC Sumter transfer was even better posting a .378 average in 24 games while tying for the Big South lead with 37 hits overall. He also posted CSU's longest hitting streak of the season at nine games (March 4-19), as well as the longest on-base streak at 16 games this season.

Hagaman, a native of Pawley's Island, S.C., was a First Team All-Big South selection as a designated hitter following his junior season. He batted .326 with six home runs and 43 hits. For his career, the versatile Buc starter 108 games, batting .285 with 111 hits and 67 RBI. He also made 54 career appearances out of the bullpen, with a 5-1 career record and three saves.

He will graduate in May with a degree in Social Sciences.
