CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern women's golfer
Katie Stephens has been named the Big South Women's Golfer of the Week following a strong performance at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge.
This marks Stephens' sixth Big South Golfer of the Week honor of her career and third of the 2025-26 season.
Stephens paced the Buccaneers with an exceptional showing in Pawleys Island, earning Co-Champion honors after tying for first place with a three-round total of 208 (5-under par). Competing at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, a par-71 course measuring 6,082 yards, Stephens opened the tournament with an impressive 67 before following with rounds of 70 and 71, finishing amongst the top performers in the 19-team field and securing her share of the individual title. Stephens has now claimed three individual titles this season.
Her performance highlighted a strong overall showing for Charleston Southern at the event. The Buccaneers finished fourth overall with a three-round total of 885 (33-over par), opening with a 288 before posting rounds of 298 and 299 to close the tournament.
Stephens' play continues to lead the Buccaneers during a strong spring stretch as the team now turns its focus toward postseason competition. Charleston Southern will next compete at the Big South Championships, set for April 19-22 in Fripp Island, South Carolina.
