CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team returns home this week for a pivotal two-game Big South Conference homestand, welcoming UNC Asheville and Presbyterian to Buccaneer Fieldhouse as the Bucs continue to build momentum in league play.
CSU enters the week at 7-14 overall and 5-4 in conference action following an emphatic 85-62 road victory at USC Upstate. The Buccaneers turned in one of the most efficient offensive performances in program history, shooting 56.5 percent from three-point range and leading for nearly the entire contest. Charleston Southern has now won three of its last five games and sits in fourth place in the Big South standings heading into February.
Junior guard
Tyonna Bailey, who was named Big South Player of the Week for the second time this season, continues to anchor the Buccaneer offense. Bailey averaged 26.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 three-pointers made last week, highlighted by a 28-point, nine-rebound effort at USC Upstate. She ranks first in scoring in conference play averaging 21.4 points per game.
