MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's golf team wrapped up play at the RiverTowne Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, finishing third overall with a team score of 913 (+49) across three rounds. The tournament was held at Rivertowne Country Club, a par 72 course playing 6,163 yards.
Eugenie Varet led the Buccaneers with a career-best performance, capturing her first collegiate individual championship. She opened the tournament with a 73 before firing a 71 in the second round and closing with a steady 72 to finish atop the leaderboard at even par. Varet's consistent play across all three days secured the individual title and paced CSU throughout the event.
Katie Stephens also turned in a strong showing, finishing seventh overall. She recorded rounds of 80, 75, and 73 to post a three-round total of 228 (12-over par).
Chayse Cool finished tied for 13th in the field after shooting 75 in the opening round, followed by an 82 in round two and a 76 in the final round to finish at 233 (17-over par).
IY Ibnu tied for 15th overall with steady rounds of 77, 77, and 82 for a total of 236 (20-over par).
Summer Griffiths rounded out the CSU lineup, finishing 31st after posting scores of 91, 83, and 86 to close the tournament at 260 (44-over par).
As a team, Charleston Southern posted consistent rounds of 305, 305, and 303, improving in the final round to secure a third-place finish in the six-team field.
The Buccaneers will return to action this weekend in Pawley's Island at the Battle at the Beach tournament.
