CHARLESTON - Charleston Southern dropped its finale in the Cici's Pizza Lowcountry Classic on Sunday by a final score of 10-2 to Akron with the Zips run ruling the Bucs. 

Akron got out to a fast start, tallying six runs in the first inning. They got each of the first two of RBI singles followed by a two RBI double and was capped off with a two-run home run to left field. 

The Bucs' Charlee Yourman belted a ball over the fence in center field get the hosts on the scoreboard as well as bring Emily Chandler home to score as well on the play, putting the score at 6-2. 

Akron went on to tally a four-spot in the fourth off a two-run home run and a pair of RBI singles to push the scoreline to 10-2, proving to be the final score after five.

Charleston Southern ended with three hits with them coming from Yourman, Blakely Kingsmore and Jordyn Dimond. Chandler drew a pair of walks. 

Riley Lauffer started and had the first 0.2 innings followed by Kinsey Clopton for the next 3.0 with Brenna Conley tossing a shutout for the final 1.1 frames.

Charleston Southern is back in action next weekend for their first road games of the season at the SpaceU Classic. The University of Central Florida is hosting the tournament with the Bucs to kick it off by playing Notre Dame and Penn State on Friday.
