CHARLESTON – On opening day of the 2026 Spring tennis season, the Charleston Southern Women's Tennis program hosted the No. 23 nationally ranked Florida Gators. Florida defeated CSU, 6–1.
The Buccaneers' lone set victory came from redshirt-junior Carlota Farrés Carreter. Farrés defeated Florida's Brooke Black in a 10–5, tie-breaking third set. Farrés, a transfer from Memphis, saw action only during her freshman season with the Tigers. Her freshman year was cut short due to injury, resulting in a limited 0–1 singles record—making Saturday's singles win the first of her collegiate career.
