CHARLESTON — Thursday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced its Women's Tennis Preseason Poll and Preseason Player of the Year. 

Charleston Southern senior Marina Skegro was selected as the league's premier player heading into the 2026 Spring season. Skegro and the rest of her Buccaneer teammates were also honored as the conference's 1st place team in the Preseason Poll, receiving the unanimous nod.

The defending conference champion-Buccaneers will begin their Spring season this Saturday, January 17th, as they host the Florida Gators in the Lowcountry. The matches will begin at 1:00 PM at CSU's Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center.
