Seven New Top-Ten Times Set by Women's Track and Field at Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, GA – The Buccaneers competed in the Georgia Tech Invitational ahead of the Easter holiday this week with the squad compiling seven new marks within the top ten in school history for various events.
 
The Bucs got out to a tremendous start on the week with the 100m hurdles. Austyn Koppe placed in fourth overall in the meet with a time of 13.69. Maeva Tahou ran a 13.99 and Chloe Maé Wilks had a 14.00 with Wilks' time moving her up to eighth all-time in the event.
 
Another tremendous showing on the weekend came in the 400m hurdles for the Bucs. Grenisha Thomas ran a personal best in the event with a time of 59.53, she remains in third place in program history for the event, but edges closer to the record for it. Koppe had a time of 60.68 and du Toit had a 60.92.
 
Maddie St. Louis had a 55.19 in the 400m for a career best time in the event. The time places her seventh in school history. Caroline Aslerin and Sophia Cupp also competed in the race and had time of 56.80 and 57.97.
 
Thomas took a top ten finish in the 100m dash at the meet with her 11.89. Nourhan Hassan also ran in it and had a 12.16. Hassan had the top time among the Bucs in the 200m with her 25.06.
 
Freya Buglass and Valerie Capalbo both competed in the 800m with Buglass having a time of 2:12.22 for the top time among the entrees from CSU.
 
Charlize Antia ran a career best time in the 1500m with her time of 4:35.58. The time moves her up a spot on the school's all-time leaderboard to fourth in school history. Taylar White ran in the 3K steeplechase and had a time of 11:07.19, just seconds off her personal best.
 
The women's 5K concluded the meet's action on Friday. In the race, Katrina Husby had a time of 17:19.26 for a slight personal best in the event. She remains in fifth place in school history with the faster time. Sarah Jacobs also competed in it and had a time of 17:49.47.
 
In the shotput, Josie Ankney and Alayna Abrams both competed in it. Ankney had a 12.54m (41' 1.75") and Abrams had a 12.39m (40' 7.75"). In the javelin, Amelia Stembridge threw a 33.98m (111' 6"). In the discus, Avah Morrison and Ankney had marks of 37.73m (123' 9") and 37.12m (121' 9").
 
The Buccaneers' time at the meet came to an end with them competing in the 4x400m. The squad of Thomas, St. Louis, du Toit and Aslerin ran a season-best of 3:39.53.
 
Charleston Southern finishes their regular season next weekend at the Charlotte Invitational which will be held from Friday, April 25 through Saturday, April 26.
