WAKE FOREST, N.C. – Charleston Southern's Sarah McCartney took part in the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday evening and broke the school record in the 10K.
 
She was the lone Buccaneer student-athlete to travel to the meet and finished 14^th overall in the field. She recorded a time of 34:56.94 in the race to break the school record that she set in the event back in May of 2023 at the Big South Championships. The new time is 25 seconds faster than the previous record that she held.
 
Charleston Southern has the rest of the team competing in the Georgia Tech Invitational this weekend with the action to be from Friday, April 18 through Saturday, April 19.
