CHARLOTTE – The Big South announced the preseason polls for Indoor Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field on Thursday afternoon. The Buccaneer men and women were each selected as the league's runners-up following their second-place finishes at the Big South Indoor Championships at the end of February.

High Point was chosen as the favorites on both the men's and women's sides, receiving all of the first-place votes in the polls. In the women's poll, Charleston Southern received all of the second-place votes while in the men's they claimed all but one.

Last spring, the women took second at the championship meet while the men claimed third. The women's finish was their best since 2021 with them compiling 231 total points across the three-day event with Chloe Greene earning Most Valuable Athlete.

The teams will begin their spring outdoor seasons on Friday, March 14 at the CSU Buc Open at Bagwell-Settle Track. All of the field events will be competed throughout the day with the track events to be held in the evening in the cooler Charleston temperature.
