CHARLESTON – The Buccaneers'
Rashawn Cunningham claimed the OVC / Big South Football Association Offensive and Freshman of the Week awards following this weekend's record-setting performance at UT Martin.
He posted a career-high in receptions and receiving yards with seven and 216. His yardage ranks as the third-most in school history as well as the fourth-most in OVC/Big South history and in the FCS so far this season. They had two catches of 70 yards or longer with one going for a 73-yard touchdown in the third quarter to tie the game at seven apiece. The other was a 71-yard that set up a touchdown in the fourth quarter and CSU's lone lead of the day. He also had a tackle on a punt return.
In total, this marks the Buccaneers' tenth and eleventh weekly award from the league office this fall. Other winners from Charleston Southern have included

The Buccaneers will close out their 2025 regular season this weekend as they host Tennessee State on Saturday, November 22. The game will serve as Military Appreciation Day, Senior Day and North Charleston Appreciation Day.
