GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charleston Southern Women's Cross Country raced in their second event of the fall season on Saturday morning at the Furman Invitational. The Buccaneers finished in third at the event with a team score of 78.
The top finisher for the Bucs was
Sarah McCartney as she took 7
th overall with her time of 21:09.2. The next across the line for CSU was
Keerstin Augustin who was in 10
th and had a time of 21:16.2.
Elizabeth Shaylor and
Katrina Husby each recorded times in the 22s as they were in 25
th and 30
th in the field. Shaylor had a time of 22:36.9 while Husby had a time of 22:49.1.
Taylar White was the fifth finisher for the Bucs in the race with her time of 23:04.1.
Sarah Jacobs was the next across the line for the Bucs with her time of 23:13.1 and
Charlize Antia was the last scorer for Charleston Southern in the race with her time of 23:49.6
Furman claimed the title with a team score of 20. Teresa Cherotich won the race with a time of 20:21.1.
Charleston Southern now begins their preparations for the ECU Pirate Invitational which will be ran on Friday, October 4 and enjoy three weeks of preparation between now and the race.
