CHARLESTON – Women's Track and Field saw a pair of school records fall on Sunday at the CSU Last Chance meet with each being in throwing events.
The day started with
Chloe Greene breaking her own school record in the javelin. She bested it by nearly a full meter with a new career-best heave of 46.34m (152') during the first event of the day. Her throw now sits at 7
th all-time in the Big South.
Shortly after,
Layla Senter broke the school record in the shot put with a personal best toss of 15.36m (50'4.75"). She becomes the first in program history to eclipse 15 meters in the event and seventh to do it in the history of the league. Additionally, her heave now sits at 6
th in Big South history.
In the discus,
Zemaya Carson threw for 49.58 (162' 8") in her best attempt of the day.
Anne Akagi closed out the day in the 800m with her time of 2:11.79 to close out her five-year career with the Buccaneers as one of the top distance runners in CSU history.
The Buccaneers will find out their postseason fates this week with many on the bubble for a spot in the NCAA Regionals. This year's East Regionals are going to be held in Lexington, Kentucky at the University of Kentucky from Wednesday, May 22 through Saturday, May 25.
