DURHAM – Charleston Southern finished their time at the Duke Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers'
Chloe Greene was the top performer on the day for the team setting personal bests in each of her three events.
The day began with
Chloe Greene and
Alaina Nettles in the long jump. Greene had her best jump of the season that was wind legal as she went for 5.61m (18' 5") which ranks as 8
th in school history.
Charleston Southern's 4x100m relay squad was next up and took 4
th overall in the field. They finished with a time of 45.90 which is 8
th fastest in program history. The relay was made up of
Amaya Johnson,
Grenisha Thomas,
Destiny Wallace and
Dylann Core.
The Bucs saw solid runs by Greene later in the day in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.29 and later
Jewel Ash with a time of 54.62 in the 400m. Wallace had a time of 11.80 in the 100m for 7
th overall.
Greene also had a stellar outing in the 400m hurdles with another new personal best time in the event. She finished with a 1:00.63 to now move herself up from 7
th into 4
th in the event in CSU history.
Freya Buglass improved on her personal best time in the 800m as she took 6
th overall in the event with her time of 2:10.48. With the time, she still sits in second place in the school record book for the 800m.
The Buccaneers will turn their attention to next weekend where they will have a trip to Atlanta, Georgia for the Yellow Jacket Invite. The Bucs will be contested from Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20. This is the team's final regular season meet for the season.
