CHARLOTTE – Charleston Southern had one of the student-athletes earn the Male Track Athlete of the Week award from the Big South Conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Luciano Custodio was selected as the winner for the award, making it the first award for a Buccaneer to earn at the start of this outdoor spring season. This past weekend he finished third in the 400m hurdles with an incredible time of 52.24 in the event at the Weems Baskin Invitational hosted by South Carolina. This time ranked 14
th at the time in the NCAA D1 ranks.
Also at the meet, he ran a leg of the school's 4x400 relay team helping them to get a time of 3:15.68 to take eighth overall in the talented field. This time just missed outside of the school's all-time top ten and ranks 38
th in the NCAA D1 level so far this year.
Custodio is back in action this weekend at the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida. She is going to compete in the 400m hurdles at the meet. The meet is scheduled to take place from Thursday through Saturday.
