CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After tossing her second complete-game shutout of the season in a win over USC Upstate over the weekend,
Nealy Lamb cemented herself as Big South Freshman of the Week after throwing 7.0 innings and allowing one hit and striking out eight batters. It is her second time winning the award.
The Cades, S.C. native threw 11.2 innings this week against Georgia Tech and USC Upstate and struck out a total of 11 batters in those two games. Her eight strikeouts in the 1-0 victory over USC Upstate were one off of her career high and guided the Bucs to their first conference victory of the season.
This is Lamb's second time winning a weekly honor this month, as she won Big South Co-Freshman of the Week back on Mar. 11. She continues to dominate in her freshman campaign, sporting a 2.09 ERA, which is second in the Big South. Opponents are hitting just .169 off of her, which is the best in the conference.
Lamb and the Bucs will host USC Upstate one final time on Monday, as they look to take the series with the Spartans before hitting the road for the next 10 games.
