Buccaneers Remain Unblemished at Home as They Sweep Eastern Michigan

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern continued their strong play at home this season with a 7-0 sweep over Eastern Michigan. The victory moves the Bucs to 5-0 at home and 5-3 overall on the year.
 
The Buccaneers opened the day by taking the doubles point with victories on the #1 and #3 courts. Noa Boyd and Amila Jusufbegovic got their decision by a 6-2 final and then Eastern Michigan took the #2 court. The point was clinched by Kassandra Di Staulo and Brenda Yoris with their final of 6-2.
 
In singles play, Charleston Southern cruised to the win, taking each match in straight sets. Marina Skegro was the first to win hers at 6-2, 6-1 on court #4 and Khyanna Singh followed shortly after at court #6 with the final at 7-5, 6-0.
 
Boyd clinched the team's fourth point at court #3 with scores of 6-3, 6-3. The rest of the Bucs cruised to victories with Yoris at 6-1, 6-3 on court #5. The top two were the last pair with Jusufbegovic ending 6-4, 6-4 in the topflight and Braun ending 6-4, 7-6 (2) on court #2.
 
The win marks the first 7-0 victory against an opponent for Charleston Southern this season.
 
The Buccaneers will hit the road this weekend for a pair of ranked opponents. They will first take on #67 Georgia Southern on Saturday in Statesboro and follow it up by continuing the road trip at #51 Clemson for a matchup on Sunday.
