Box Score 2 COLUMBIA – Charleston Southern dropped a pair of matches on Sunday on the campus of the University of South Carolina. They opened the day with a neutral match with #61 Charlotte and followed it with #18 South Carolina.
One of the biggest bright points of the day came in the opener as the Buccaneers were able to take the doubles point from the 49ers.
Kassandra Di Staulo and
Brenda Yoris won at #3 with a 6-4 scoreline while
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic won in a 7-6 tiebreaker at court #2 to give them the early lead.

Marina Skegro and
Khyanna Singh each took a set from their opponent in their matches. Skegro and Singh's each went unfinished with Skegro leading in the third set 4-1 when the match was called.
Against South Carolina, they featured three nationally ranked singles players as well as the #45 doubles pairing. The Gamecocks got the doubles point and went on to claim three straight set victories in singles matches. Their lineup included the #7 player in the country in the topflight followed by the #6 on the second court and the #119 on the third.
Charleston Southern will be back in action on Thursday, February 29at 1:00 p.m. to take on Eastern Michigan at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. The Buccaneers are looking to snap a three-match losing streak with a victory over the upcoming visitors.
