CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team wrapped their 2024 non-conference home schedule on Tuesday night, falling to the College of Charleston Cougars 86-45 inside the Buc Dome.
The Bucs (3-7) turned the ball over a season-high 29 times, leading to 27 points for the Cougars (6-1).
Madison Adamson had a season best for the Buccaneers, scoring 15 points and went 2/3 from beyond the arc and 5/5 from the free throw line.
It was all Cougars from the beginning, as they started the game on a 10-2 run in the first five minutes of the opening quarter. They led by as many as 22 points in the first half, as a pair of free throws with 1:14 left in the second quarter made it 37-15.
The Cougars pushed their lead past forty points with 2:12 left in the fourth quarter with a three pointer from Taryn Barbot, who scored a College of Charleston record of 35 points, shooting 10/12 from beyond the arc.
For the Buccaneers,
Caelan Ellis played a season-high 16 minutes and scored six points on 2/5 shooting.
Keshunti Nichols led the team with four assists and tied for the team lead in rebounds with five.
