CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern University recently announced the numbers for the fall academic semester, continuing to showcase the university's commitment to academic excellence. The Buccaneers finished with a 3.06 GPA with 142 of them earning recognition on the Dean's List. Additionally, there were 44 student-athletes who finished their fall semester with perfect 4.0s.
All 16 athletic programs at Charleston Southern had multiple athletes recognized on the listing. Each program also had at least one student-athlete earn a 4.0 during the previous semester.
The baseball program, led by Head Coach Marc MacMillan, led all programs in numbers of athletes on the Dean's List. They had 22 get placed on the list and had five of these earn 4.0s.
Another strong semester came from the women's soccer program, led by Head Coach Jose Gomez, leading all teams in highest percentage of student-athletes to make it onto the Dean's List. The Buccaneers placed 19 student-athletes on the Dean's List with nine of them having 4.0s.
Beyond the continued academic success, the Buccaneers have had a tremendous fall semester on the field of play. The Buccaneers are on pace for yet another top three finish in the Big South Sasser Cup. Charleston Southern Athletics is also committed to being active members in the community as well as on the campus, embodying the CSU motto – "Promoting Academic Excellence in a Christian Environment."
